Pack Moves into NCAA Tournament Second Round with Win Over Morgan State

RALEIGH, N.C. - Eighth-seeded NC State women's tennis defeated Morgan State, 5-0, to advance to the second round of the 2026 NCAA Tournament, sweeping the Bears in Friday's first-round match. Jasmine Conway delivered the match-clinching win, while Lavinia Tanasie, Gabriella Broadfoot and Anna Zyryanova also earned singles victories.
The Wolfpack secured the doubles point with wins on courts one and three. No. 3 Broadfoot and Victoria Osuigwe opened with a 6-1 victory, before Mia Slama and Tanasie clinched the point with a 6-2 win.
In singles play, NC State earned four straight-set victories. No. 66 Tanasie opened scoring with a 6-3, 6-2 win, followed by No. 49 Broadfoot's 6-2, 6-2 victory on court three. Conway clinched the match with a 6-0, 6-4 decision, while No. 46 Zyryanova added a 6-2, 6-3 win seconds later to make it 5-0.
With the win, NC State advances to the second round for the seventh consecutive season and is one win away from its seventh straight Sweet 16 appearance. The Wolfpack will face No. 20 UCF in the second round for the second year in a row after defeating the Knights 4-1 at home last season.
