Wolfpack Downs UCF to Advance to Seventh Consecutive Sweet 16

RALEIGH, N.C. - Eighth-seeded NC State women's tennis defeated No. 20 UCF, 4-0, in the second round of the 2026 NCAA Tournament to advance to the program's seventh consecutive Sweet 16.
The Wolfpack secured the doubles point with wins on courts one and three. Mia Slama and Lavinia Tanasie opened with a 6-1 victory, while No. 3 Gabriella Broadfoot and Victoria Osuigwe followed with a 6-2 win to clinch the point.
In singles play, NC State earned three quick straight-set victories. Osuigwe led the way with a 6-1, 6-0 win, followed by Jasmine Conway's 6-3, 6-1 decision. No. 66 Lavinia Tanasie clinched the match with a 6-3, 6-0 victory.
The Wolfpack needed just one hour and 50 minutes to defeat the Knights, marking the second consecutive season NC State has topped UCF in the NCAA Tournament. With the win, the Pack advances to its seventh straight Sweet 16.
NC State will host the winner of ninth-seeded Texas and Texas Tech for the Sweet 16, who play Sunday, May 3 at 1 p.m. Details of the match up will be announced as they become available.
