RALEIGH, N.C. – The NC State softball team capitalized on defensive miscues and a sixth inning surge to defeat Loyola-Chicag, 8-1, Saturday afternoon at Dail Softball Stadium in the final game of The Wolfpack Classic.
With the win, the Wolfpack improved to 13-7 on the season and marks the 10th consecutive game won, the second longest winning streak under head coach Lindsay Leftwich.

How it Happened
- Loyola Chicago struck first in the top of the second inning, scoring an unearned run to take a 1-0 lead.
- NC State responded in the bottom of the fourth, plating four runs to take control of the game. The Pack capitalized on three Ramblers errors in the inning to turn a deficit into a 4-1 advantage.
- In the fifth, the Wolfpack added an insurance run on a fielder's choice to extend the lead to 5-1. Hannah Church recorded her second hit of the game in the frame.
- The Pack broke the game open in the sixth inning. After drawing back-to-back walks, Kendall Simmers launched a three-run home run to deep center field, pushing the margin to 8-1. The long ball was her second hit of the outing.
- NC State retired the final Loyola Chicago hitters to secure the victory.
- Wynne Gore picked up her fourth win in the circle after tossing 6.1 innings. She allowed just one unearned run on five hits while striking out three and issuing no walks.
- NC State scored eight unanswered runs after trailing 1-0.
- The Wolfpack defense turned 14 ground-ball outs.
- Lily Livingston initiated the final out in the fifth and all three outs in the top of the sixth to record four consecutive assists.
