Wolfpack Closes Out Regular-Season Action

KERNERSVILLE, N.C. - The NC State cross country teams concluded regular-season action on Friday in Kernersville, N.C., with a meet against Wake Forest and North Carolina. The Wolfpack women tabbed a second-place finish (51 points) while the men took third place (72 points).
WOMEN'S 6K RECAP:
Redshirt sophomore Sarah LaTour posted the highest finish for NC State, taking ninth place with a time of 21:40.07. She was followed by freshmen Jenna Schulz in 10th place (21:43.17) and Gionna Quarzo in 11th place (21:48.21). Redshirt freshman Lulu Black was the fourth finisher for the Wolfpack in 12th place, running a 21:53.67.
Rounding out the scoring for the Wolfpack was freshman Claire Walters who claimed 14th place (22:07.1). Redshirt freshman Shannon Sefton (22:16.73), redshirt senior Anna Vess (22:35.98), freshman Alyssa Hendrix (22:43.8) and graduate student Ryen Frazier (23:02.85) additionally represented NC State at the meet.
MEN'S 8K RECAP:
Redshirt freshman Ben Verchick tabbed a top-10 finish for the Wolfpack, taking seventh place (24:55.68). NC State's next finisher was freshman Dan McGoey, who took 16th place with a time of 25:41.56.
Redshirt sophomore Grant Northcutt (25:46.43), redshirt sophomore Peyton Barish (25:50.03) and freshman JJ Malach (25:59.99) all scored for NC State at the meet as well.
Redshirt senior Tim Bason ran a time of 26:33.36 and freshman Jake Toomey ran a 27:03.71.
