Gapes Adds ACC Performer of the Week to National Athlete of the Week Honors

CHARLOTTE, NC - The Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) announced its weekly honors Tuesday afternoon, naming fifth-year Hannah Gapes the ACC Performer of the Week for the second time during the 2026 season.
Gapes earned the recognition after capturing the individual title at the Under Armour Pre-National Invitational over the weekend in Terre Haute, Ind. She clocked a 18:57.6, sub-19-minute time in the women's 6K, setting a new course record at the LaVern Gibson Championship Course.
The honor follows another major accolade for Gapes, who was named the USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week on Monday. It marked her second national recognition of the 2026 season and the third of her career.
Gapes remains undefeated this season as she heads into postseason competition, having claimed individual titles at both the Joe Piane Invitational and the Under Armour Pre-National Invitational.
