
Hartl, Klimentova Among Top 20 After Second Day of Lady Puerto Rico Classic

RIO MAR, Puerto Rico – Sophomore Monika Hartl of the NC State women's golf team jumped 21 spots up the individual leaderboard at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic on Monday thanks to her one-under par 71 in the second round. She leads the Wolfpack scorers and is in a tie for 17th out of 81 players with a three-over par 147.
Freshman Lea Klimentova, who is competing as an individual, also shot an under-par round as she fired a two-under 70 to share 17th-place with Hartl. Her solid round moved her up 28 spots in the standings.
As a team, NC State shot a combined 307 (+19) for a 36-hole score of 607 (+31), and is in 13th place out of 14 teams. No. 11 Kent State (580, +4) and No. 7 Arkansas (585, +9) are in first and second place, while Purdue and East Carolina are tied for third (588, +12).
Laura Kowohl, India Clyburn and Mim Sangkapong all shot a six-over par 78 in round two. Kowohl moved to T34th with a combined 150 (+6) for the week. Clyburn is in a tie for 62nd with a 155 (+11) and Sangkapong is one stroke back from her.
Naomi Ko dropped to T73rd after carding a 10-over 82 for a combined 159 (+15).
NC State will wrap up competition Tuesday at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic in a 7 a.m. ET shotgun start. The Pack will be paired with Nebraska and individual competitors from other teams on holes 14-17.
