TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Despite receiving a home run from Molly Hutchison for the second consecutive game, the NC State softball team had a difficult time dealing with one of the NCAA's top offenses, as the ninth-ranked Florida State Seminoles earned a 12-4 win Sunday afternoon in the series finale.

The Seminoles run their record to 31-4 and 10-1 in ACC play, while the Wolfpack falls to 17-24 and 3-9 in conference action.

The Rundown
- The seventh-ranked offense in the NCAA started fast in the contest, as Florida State plated five runs on four hits to grab a 5-0 first-inning lead.
- Florida State added a run in the second and three more in the fourth to stretch its advantage to 9-0 in contest.
- NC State countered in the top of the fifth with four runs to trim the Seminoles' lead to 9-4.
- Lana Van Dyken started the inning with a single to the left side and Hannah Yeager followed with a single to the same location.
- After a sacrifice bunt to move the runners to second and third base, Tyler Ross singled to right field to plate Van Dyken and Yeager.
- Hutchison stepped to the plate next and clubbed her eighth home run of the season, a two-run blast to left field as NC State pulled closer at 9-4.
- Unfortunately for the Wolfpack, Florida State answered in the bottom of the inning with three runs to earn the run-rule victory.

- Hutchison led NC State at the plate with a 2-for-3 performance, highlighted by a two-run homer.
- Brittany Nimmo, Ross, Van Dyken and Yeager had one hit apiece in the game.
