Wolfpack Sweeps #21 Stanford on the Road

STANFORD, Calif. - NC State women's tennis used the doubles point and three singles victories to sweep No. 21 Stanford, 4-0, Saturday afternoon at Taube Tennis Center. The win improves the Pack to 9-4 on the season, including 2-0 in ACC play.
The Wolfpack opened the match with a tight win in the doubles round. Mia Slama and Lavinia Tanasie opened the round with a dominant 6-1 win on court three, before the Cardinal leveled doubles with a 6-4 win on court two. No. 4 Gabriella Broadfoot and Victoria Osuigwe secured the point with a win in a tiebreak, 7-6(0).
Moving into singles play, the bottom three courts of the Pack's lineup powered NC State to its sweep. No. 106 Jasmine Conway started the round off with a 6-1, 6-2 win to double the lead, followed by a strong 6-0, 6-0 win by Osuigwe to push the Pack on the verge of a clinch.
No. 28 Tanasie closed out the win on the fourth court with a 6-3, 6-2 win to clinch the Pack's second ACC win in as many matches to open the conference season.
Today's win marked the Pack's fifth-ranked win of the season.
