Wolfpack Heads to Boston for ACC Indoor Track & Field Championships

RALEIGH, N.C. - NC State will begin the postseason at the ACC Indoor Track & Field Championships on Feb. 26-28 at The TRACK at New Balance in Boston, MA. All three days will stream on ACC Network Extra.

NC State closed out the regular indoor track and field season at the ASICS Last Chance Invite in Winston-Salem, N.C.
On the track, both DMR teams had great performances. For the women, Bethany Michalak, Brooke Rauber, Angelina Napoleon and Sadie Engelhardt clocked a 10:46.00 to finish first and write a new school record. That time also ranks as the sixth-fastest time in the NCAA this season.Â
On the men's side, Jack Anstrom, Palmer Smith, Elliott McArthur and Ian Harrison finished third with a time of 9:43.81, which now ranks No. 13 in DI college indoor rankings.
In the field, the Wolfpack throws had a day with all three athletes achieving podium finishes. Natalie Griffith finished first in the weight throw, and Tony Taylor finished first in the weight throw with a distance that ranks No. 9 all-time in NC State history.
Eight podium finishes highlighted the day.
TOP 20 NATIONAL RANKINGS
Sadie Engelhardt and Angelina Napoleon continue to hold strong in the top 20 of their respective events for the fifth consecutive week. Engelhardt remains at No. 5 in the mile with her time of 4:23.84, while Napoleon sits at No. 13 in the 3000m at 8:46.15.
Making their debut in the rankings, Bethany Michalak, Brooke Rauber, Napoleon and Engelhardt check in at No. 7 in the distance medley relay following their 10:46.00 performance.
Among the event squads, the 3000m group of Napoleon, Hannah Gapes, Engelhardt and Rauber ranks No. 7 with an impressive 9:02.34 average.
The mile squad of Engelhardt, Michalak, Kate Putman and Rauber comes in at No. 8, posting a 4:34.83 average.
In the 5000m, Rauber, Michalak, Briley Bickerstaff and Jolena Quarzo rank No. 11 with a combined average of 15:55.26.
On the men's side, the triple jump squad of Ryan John, Ryan Farness, Asun Pender and Jack Owen rounds out the rankings at No. 12 with a 14.53m average.
