Softball Scheduled to Host Second Annual Raleigh Times Tournament

RALEIGH, N.C. - The NC State softball team will continue its homestand Friday, Feb. 20, hosting the second annual Raleigh Times Tournament featuring Akron, Illinois and Providence.

The Pack will open play at 3:30pm on against Providence before facing Illinois at 6pm. All games throughout the weekend featuring NC State will be streamed on ACCNX.

Admission for the entire tournament is free and fans coming to games before 5pm on Friday will need to utilize the virtual parking permit linked above.

The Series History Each Opponent

Providence: NC State won the lone meeting between the two programs in 2010, 4-2, when they met in Miami.
Illinois: The Pack saw the Fighting Illini in week one of the season and won, 9-4, at the Tiger Classic hosted by LSU. NC State leads the overall series, 3-1. When the Wolfpack scores four or more runs, it has taken home the W.
Akron: Saturday marks the second meeting between the two programs and the first since the Pack's inaugural season in 2004. NC State won, 8-5, when the two met in Rock Hill, SC.

No Place Like Home

The Pack will begin a 21-game homestand on Feb. 17 against Queens, marking the longest in program history.
The last time the Wolfpack played close to that many consecutive games at home was in 2020, when the Pack started a 20-game homestand in the second week of the season that concluded March 10 after the remainder of the season was canceled due to COVID-19.
