Wolfpack to Host Charlotte Tuesday

RALEIGH, N.C. -- The NC State softball team (18-12) is set to host in-state foe Charlotte (17-12) for an 8pm meeting on Tuesday, March 26. The game is set to be televised on ACC Network.

The meeting is the first between the two teams since 2022.

Would move the Pack to 19-12 on the season
Would mark the 613th win in program history and 241st win at Dail Stadium

Series History with Charlotte (NC State Leads 18-6)

The series marks the 24th meeting between the two programs. The Pack won eight of the last ten meetings.
In the last meeting (2022), the Pack tallied four home runs and current senior Kaylee Lambrecht led the team with two hits.
The Pack has scored as many as 12 runs and as few as one.

Sophomore right handed pitcher Madison Inscoe tallied a career high nine strikeouts against St. John's. She recorded six consecutive (third batter face in the bottom of the third to the first batter faced in the bottom of the fifth). She tied the career high in the win over #22/23 South Carolina.
She had quite the weekend in Columbia as she: threw two complete games, both shutouts | tied her career high 9 strikeouts against Northwestern | walked zero batters in win over #22/23 South Carolina | had a weekend ERA of 1.47 | had a .400 batting average. The shutouts were the first of her collegiate career.
Inscoe has recorded three games this season with at least eight strikeouts (St. John's, Northwestern, Notre Dame game three).

Leftwich Sets the Tone

Head coach Lindsay Leftwich has begun her career setting the mark for best start (18-9) for a head coach in their first season leading the Wolfpack through the first 27 games .
The 13-3 record as of Feb. 28, which is highlighted by a 12 game win streak, is the best start to the season since 2022. The win-streak marks the second longest for a first year head coach - Shawn Rychcik recorded 13 consecutive wins in 2013.
She is just the second head coach in program history to record two wins over top-25 (#8/9 Clemson and #22/23 South Carolina) opponents in their first season at the helm -- Shawn Rychcik recorded six in his first season (2012) as head coach of the Wolfpack.

The Amanda Show

Sophomore catcher Amanda Hasler is making her presence known on the diamond.
She leads the team with nine home runs, 26 hits, and 58 total bases. She also has nine hit by pitch tallies.
Her 58 hits almost doubles the amount she had all of last season (36 ).
A nerd of the game, Hasler is one of the most intelligent softball players on the diamond. She is constantly putting in the work to grow her game and be able to help her teammates out.
During her freshman campaign, she became just the second catcher in program history to call pitches.
