
NC State Women's Soccer Sets Dail Soccer Stadium Attendance Record in Loss to No. 1 North Carolina

New Record Crowd of 3,972 Fans
RALEIGH, N.C. – NC State women's soccer set its second attendance record at Dail Soccer Stadium this season in a 4-0 home defeat to No. 1 North Carolina on Saturday night.
The Wolfpack welcomed a record 3,972 fans to Dail Soccer Stadium for its rivalry matchup against the Tar Heels, shattering the previous record of 2,506 set against Michigan State earlier this season.
The Tar Heels (8-0-4, 3-0-1 ACC) scored twice in each half to remain undefeated. Evelyn Shores netted the opening goal in the fifth minute off a corner kick before Tori Dellaperuta doubled North Carolina's lead in the 30th minute.
NC State's best attempt of the night fell to Jameese Joseph in the box less than a minute after UNC's opening goal. Joseph's attempt in front of goal went high for a Tar Heels' goal kick.
North Carolina's Ally Sentnor and Kayleigh Herr added goals in the second half to push the score to 4-0.
NC State goalkeeper Olivia Pratapas tied her career-high with eight saves. Joseph paced the Wolfpack with two shots with one attempt on target.

NC State travels to Blacksburg, Virginia, for a road match at Virginia Tech. Thursday's match against the Hokies also marks NC State's first of two nationally televised games next week as the Wolfpack will face both Virginia Tech and Virginia (Oct. 8) on ACC Network.
