Softball To Host NC State Invitational This Weekend

RALEIGH – After extending its win streak to four with its third consecutive run-rule victory in its last time out, the NC State softball team will host its final tournament of 2019 this weekend. The Wolfpack (7-6) will welcome Campbell (4-10), Charleston Southern (5-12), Kansas (3-10) and Ohio (7-6) to Dail Stadium for the NC State Invitational in conjunction with the Duke Invitational.
NC State will play Campbell twice and Charleston Southern and Kansas once apiece over the weekend. Ohio will additionally play two neutral site games in Raleigh.
Due to inclement weather in the area Friday, NC State's 6 p.m. game vs. Kansas has been moved up to 1 p.m.

Nordberg Named Co-ACC Player Of The Week
Thanks to a strong weekend at the plate that featured three home runs in a single game, Brigette Nordberg was named ACC Co-Player of the Week on Tuesday. She was the first Wolfpack player to earn a weekly award from the Atlantic Coast Conference since Molly Hutchison on March 7, 2016.
Nordberg compiled a .625 batting average with five hits, four runs and eight runs batted in, helping her team go 3-0 in the Fairfield Inn & Suites Crabtree Invitational. The Pack earned a 2-1 win over UMBC as well as a pair of run-rule wins against Murray State.
