
Pack In Eighth After First Round Of Lady Puerto Rico Classic

RIO MAR, Puerto Rico – The NC State women's golf team opened its spring season on Sunday at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic, hosted by Purdue at Rio Mar Country Club in Rio Mar, Puerto Rico. The Wolfpack sits in a tie for eighth with Augusta and Indiana as it turned in a combined score of 300 (+12).
No. 7 Arkansas (289, -1) currently leads the 14-team field, while TCU sits one stroke back in second. Purdue and No. 11 Kent State (292, +4) are in a tie for third.
Laura Kowohl fired an even-par 72 to share a tie for 12th on the individual leaderboard. India Clyburn and Monika Hartl turned in rounds of 75 (+3) and 76, in respective order, to sit at T29th and T38th.
Naomi Ko sits one stroke back from Hartl at five-over par to sit in a tie for 45th, while Mim Sangapong is at T56th with a six-over 78.
Lea Klimentova, who is competing as an individual in the tournament, shot a 77 to share 45th with Ko.
The Pack will continue competition Monday at the Lady Puerto Rico Invitational in a 7 a.m. ET shotgun, and will be paired with Georgia and Augusta on holes eight through 10.
