
Women’s Golf Finishes Fourth At Lady Puerto Rico Classic

RIO GRANDE, Puerto Rico – Led by Laura Kowohl's one-over par 72 on the final day of competition, the NC State women's golf team shot a combined score of 304 on Tuesday to conclude play at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic and finish fourth out of 11 teams.
The Wolfpack turned in a three-day score of 904 (+52) at Rio Mar Country Club, while Arkansas captured the team title with a 30-over par 882. Iowa State (892, +40) and Kent State (897, +45) rounded out the top three.
With Kowohl's 72, she finished in a tie for third with a seven-over par 220. This is her second top 10 finish and fourth top 20 showing of the year. India Clyburn also turned in a top 10 showing in Puerto Rico with an 11-over par 224, marking her second of the year.
Mim Sangkapong and Naomi Ko finished in a tie for 32nd with 54-hole scores of 232 (+20). Sangkapong shot 78 (+7) in the final round while Ko turned in a 79. Cecily Overbey finished one stroke behind her teammates in a tie for 36th after closing out the tournament with a five-over 76, while Crystal Huang rounded out the team's showing with a 78 to finish T45th with a 237 (+24).
The Pack will return to action Feb. 18-20 when it travels to New Orleans, La., for the All-State Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate Classic at English Turn Country Club.
