
Women’s Golf To Compete In Tar Heel Invitational This Weekend

RALEIGH – The NC State women's golf team will play in its second tournament of the fall this weekend when it travels to Chapel Hill, N.C., for the Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational. The tournament will run Friday through Sunday at UNC-Chapel Hill's Finley Golf Course.
Since the program was revived in 2000, the Wolfpack has competed in this tournament every year. NC State is one of 18 teams in the field, as 10 are nationally ranked in the latest Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) polls and four programs are receiving votes for the top 25.

Par - 72
Yardage – 6,379
Format – 54 holes (18 holes Friday, Saturday and Sunday)

Tee Times – NC State will be paired with Ohio State and Rollins on Friday in an 12 p.m. shotgun start due to anticipated heavy rain Thursday. Saturday's tee times will be based off of Friday's results, and Sunday will be a 9:15 a.m. shotgun start.
Last Time Out
The team competed in the Cougar Classic at Yeamans Hall on Sept. 9-10, as the tournament was shortened to 36 holes due to Hurricane Florence. NC State finished 11th of 19 teams, shooting a combined 584 (+8).
Laura Kowohl led the Pack with her third consecutive top 20 finish, dating back to the 2017-18 season, and seventh of her career. She carded a two-under 70 in both rounds to finish T15th.
The team was slated to play in the Mercedes Benz Collegiate in Knoxville, Tenn., Sept. 18-19, but withdrew due to the threat of Hurricane Florence.

NC State finished seventh of 18 teams last year at the Tar Heel Invite, turning in a one-under par 863 for its best 54-hole score of the year. Kowohl turned in a top 20 finish, firing a three-under 69 in the final two rounds en route to a five-under 211.
