Clyburn, Kowohl Lead Pack In First Round Of Landfall Tradition

WILMINGTON, N.C. – Juniors India Clyburn and Laura Kowohl each posted a team-best 74 (+2) on Friday in the opening round of the Landfall Tradition, leading the NC State women's golf team to a combined score of 299 (+11) at the Country Club of Landfall.
The Wolfpack is in a tie for 14th-place with Clemson out of 18 teams. Duke leads the field with an 11-under par 277, while Alabama is one stroke behind the Blue Devils in second place and Michigan State is in third place at six-under.
Clyburn and Kowohl sit in a tie for 35th in the individual standings, while Naomi Ko is one stroke back in a tie for 47th. Cecily Overbey shot a four-over par 76 and is T58th while Crystal Huang rounded out the Pack's top five with a 79 (+7) to share a tie for 85th.
NC State will continue play at the Landfall Tradition Saturday morning. The team will tee of hole 10 between 9:15 and 9:51 a.m., and will be paired with competitors from Clemson and Penn State.
