Kowohl Paces Pack With 69 In Second Round Of Tar Heel Invitational

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Junior Laura Kowohl paced the NC State women's golf team on Saturday at the Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational, firing a three-under par 69 at Finley Golf Course to help her team post another 18-hole score of 286 in the second round of competition.
The Wolfpack sits in a tie for fifth place out of 18 teams with a 36-hole score of 572, as Duke continues to lead the field at 554 (-22). Alabama (564) and South Carolina (565) round out the top three of the team standings.
Kowohl's 69 on Saturday propelled her 13 spots up the leaderboard to T21st overall with a two-under par 142. Crystal Huang shot a career best 70 (-2) to move up to 27th on the individual standings with a 36-hole score of 143 (-1).
Naomi Ko's 73 put her in a tie for 30th with an even-par 144, while India Clyburn's 76 and Cecily Overbey's 74 rounded out the Pack's lineup as Clyburn is T32nd with a 145 (+1) and Overbey is T54th with a 148 (+4).
The Pack will conclude play Sunday at the Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational, as the team will tee off in a 9:15 a.m. shotgun on holes three through six with competitors from Arkansas and host UNC-Chapel Hill.
