Ross Reaches Milestone in Wolfpack Doubleheader

Tyler Ross reaches 100 career runs scored
RALEIGH, N.C. – Despite junior Tyler Ross becoming just the fifth player in program history to reach 100 career runs scored, NC State softball dropped both games of Saturday's doubleheader against Boston College.

The Wolfpack came up short in game one of the day, 4-0, and also fell in game two of the twin bill, 9-2. NC State falls to 21-28 and 4-13 in Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) play, while Boston College improves to 23-20 and 6-8 in league action.

NC State had a tough day against Boston College's pitchers, as the Wolfpack managed just two hits, both of which left the ballpark. Ross hit her team-leading 15th home run in the bottom of the first inning in game two and Meredith Burroughs followed a few batters later with a solo homer to center field, her 11th of the year.

Boston College swung the bats well in both games, as they recorded double-digit hits in both contests, scoring four runs in game one and nine in game two.

The teams will return to the field for game three of the series Sunday. First pitch is slated for noon at Dail Stadium.
