
Clyburn Finishes Third, Pack Seventh At Landfall Tradition

Clyburn earns third top-15 finish of season
WILMINGTON, N.C.- Highlighted by India Clyburn's third-place finish on the individual leaderboard, the NC State women's golf team wrapped up its final round of fall play this season at the Landfall Tradition, finishing in a tie for seventh place out of 18 teams with a Sunday score of 294 (+6).
NC State closed out the tournament at the Pete Dye Course at UNCW's Country Club of Landfall with a final score of 582 (+18). South Carolina finished first by a scorecard playoff on the team leaderboard with a five-under par 859, while Wake Forest's Jennifer Kupcho earned medalist honors with a three-day score of 207 (-9).
Clyburn's four-under par 68 on day three led her to a tie for third place of 96 players with a five-under par 211. Naomi Ko held onto a top-20 finish as she carded a 73 on the final day of play to finish 18th with a 218 (+2). This marks Clyburn's third top-15 finish in as many tournaments, while today's showing stands as the eighth round of the fall she has turned in a score of even par or better.
"I was really pleased with my playing this fall," said Clyburn. "I got better each week and put together some really good scores in each tournament. I'm very happy with my T3 finish here as well. I dug in deep today by holing in some crucial putts for pars and birdies."
Laura Kowohl remained consistent and shot another two-over par 74 to conclude her showing with a 227 (+11). Leonie Bettel shot a final round of 79 to post a 54-hole score of 228, while Cecily Overbey rounded out the Pack's traveling five with an 84 for a weekend total of 238 (+22).
This concludes the Pack's fall portion of the 2016-17 season. NC State will return to action when it travels to the Lady Puerto Rico Classic Feb. 12-14.
