
Women's Golf In Seventh At Landfall Tradition

WILMINGTON, N.C. – After one day of competition, the NC State women’s golf team is tied for seventh at the 11th-annual Landfall Tradition. The Wolfpack fired a first-round 12-over par, 300 team tally at the par-72, 6,138-yard at the Country Club of Landfall’s Jack Nicklaus Course. NC State is tied with host UNC Wilmington and Wake Forest.
Senior Amanda Baker and sophomore Augusta James were the top individuals for NC State with both recording 1-over par, 73s to tie for 16th on the leaderboard. Both golfers notched three birdies in their rounds Friday.
Junior Brittany Marchand is tied for 36th with after an opening round 4-over par, 76. Fellow junior Ana Mendez posted a 6-over par, 78 to tie for 57th, while sophomore Lindsay McGetrick shot a 7-over par, 79 to tie for 65th.
Friday’s opening-round weather featured temperatures in the 70s, Saturday’s second round will present another challenge to tournament field. Tomorrow’s forecast calls for an 80 percent chance of rain and temperatures in the 60s.
Oklahoma State is the team leader with a four-over par, 292 and Texas Tech’s Kim Kaufman is a top the leaderboard at 5-under par, 67.
