WILMINGTON, N.C. - The NC State women's golf team tied for seventh in the weather-shorten Landfall Tradition hosted by UNC Wilmington at the Country Club of Landfall's Jack Nicklaus course. The Wolfpack tied with Wake Forest and the host Seahawks at 12-over par, 300.
All final results were based on Friday's first round.
Hurricane Sandy dumped heavy rain on the course, forcing the suspension of play during Saturday's second round. Tournament officials had tentatively set a 9:30 a.m., shotgun start for Sunday to finish the second round, but continued rainfall from the system overnight made for unplayable conditions.
Senior Amanda Baker and Augusta James finished tied for 15th after carding 1-over, 73s in the first round. Junior Brittany Marchand posted a 4-over par, 76 to tie for 36th, while senior Ana Menendez recorded a 6-over par, 78. Rounding out the Pack's five competitors was sophomore Lindsay McGetrick with a 7-over par, 79.
Oklahoma State was declared the winning team after shooting a 4-over par, 293. Texas Tech's Kim Kaufman captured top individual honors with a 5-under par, 67.
