SUNSET BEACH, N.C. - Junior Colby Cobb was the Pack's low scorer with a round of two-over par 74 to lead the squad to a third-place standing after 18 holes at the Sea Trail Intercollegiate. Playing on the legendary William Byrd course, a par 72 measuring 6,079, the squad turned in a team total of 315 for the day. Playing as an individual, Sarah Bonner is 10th with a round of 77.
Courtney Pomeranz's round of 78 was the second lowest of the scoring four on the day. She is tied for 15th. Sarah Davis, Margaux Hennessey complete the scoring with rounds of 81 and 82 respectively. Nancy Mountcast finished one stroke back with an 83.
Western Carolina leads the tournament with a score of 297 and boasts the top two names on the leaderboard after the first round. Brandy Anderson was one-under on the day with a 71, and Bianca Melone was one-over with a 73, good enough for second.
Play will conclude on Sunday. Action begins at 7:32 a.m. with players teeing off from the first and 10th tees.
