Pack Drops Rivalry Matchup Against Tar Heels

The Tar Heels out-hit the Wolfpack 16-5 throughout the evening.
The Pack moves to 21-16 on the season and 3-7 in conference action.
How It Happened
- North Carolina struck first with a five-run first inning, capped by a three-run home run from former member of the Pack, Michele Tarpey, to take an early 5–0 lead.
- The Pack got on the board in the second inning when Ellington Whitaker was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, scoring Taryn Massey.
- UNC extended its lead to 7–1 in the third with two runs on a single and a bases-loaded walk.
- NC State responded in the bottom of the third as Hannah Church laced a two-RBI double to left field, scoring Lily Livingston and Kendall Simmers to cut the deficit to 7–3.
- The Tar Heels answered immediately in the fourth inning, hitting back-to-back home runs to stretch the lead to 10–3.
- UNC added one final run in the fifth inning on an RBI double to bring the score to its final margin of 11–3.
The series finale will take place on Saturday at 1pm at Dail Stadium. The game will be streamed on ACCNX.
