SYRACUSE, N.Y. – NC State secured a dominant doubleheader sweep over Syracuse on Sunday at Skytop Softball Stadium, taking the first game by a score of 5–1 before run-ruling the Orange 10–0 in five innings in game two.

The Pack posted 24 hits on 15 runs between the two games and held the Orange to just six hits and one run.

How It Happened

Syracuse took a 1–0 lead in the first inning, capitalizing on a Wolfpack error after a hit-by-pitch and stolen base.
NC State answered in the third when Lily Livingston launched a two-run home run to give the Pack a 2–1 lead.
Despite early momentum being slowed by three double plays, the Wolfpack continued to apply pressure offensively.
In the sixth, NC State added an insurance run after taking advantage of Syracuse errors, with Carly Short driving in a run on an RBI single.
Kendall Simmers extended the lead in the seventh with a two-run home run to center field, pushing the score to 5–1.
Morgen Talley closed out the win in the circle, limiting Syracuse to two hits and securing the complete-game victory.

How It Happened

NC State jumped out to a quick start, scoring two runs in the first inning behind an RBI single from Kendall Simmers and a run-producing fielder's choice from Makayla Marbury.
The Pack extended the lead in the third inning when Morgen Talley blasted a two-run home run, later adding another run on an RBI single from Hannah Church to make it 5–0.
NC State broke the game open in the fourth with a five-run inning.
Carly Short ignited the rally with a leadoff single and aggressive baserunning, stealing second and third before scoring on Talley's RBI single.
Marbury followed with an RBI walk, and Taryn Massey delivered a three-run double to extend the lead to 10–0.
Rylee Wyman controlled the game in the circle, stranding runners and holding Syracuse scoreless through five innings.
The Wolfpack sealed the 10–0 run-rule victory in the fifth inning to complete the doubleheader sweep.
