CHARLOTTE, N.C. - NC State women's tennis' second-ranked doubles pair of Gabriella Broadfoot and Victoria Osuigwe has been named ACC Doubles Team of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday afternoon. The honor marks the Pack's sixth weekly award of the spring and the fourth this season for Broadfoot and Osuigwe as a pair.
Broadfoot, a junior from Johannesburg, South Africa, now owns eight career ACC Doubles Team of the Week selections, while Osuigwe, a freshman from Bradenton, Florida, has earned four in her first season with the Wolfpack.
The reigning NCAA doubles champions earned the honor after posting a perfect 2-0 week to help the Wolfpack secure a pair of ACC victories over Wake Forest (March 11) and No. 32 SMU (March 15). NC State claimed the doubles point in both matches, extending its streak to eight straight doubles points.
Broadfoot and Osuigwe opened the week with a 6-1 win over Wake Forest's top duo of Nevena Carton and Kady Tannenbaum. The Wolfpack tandem then followed with a top-10 win in Dallas, defeating No. 10-ranked Caroline McGinley and Amelie Van Impe of SMU, 6-3. The victory marked the pair's 10th ranked win of the season.
The two wins improved Broadfoot and Osuigwe to 22-4 overall this season, including a 13-2 mark in spring dual play. All 15 of their dual matches have come on the top court.
