RALEIGH, N.C. – Freshman infielder Lily Livingston delivered in the clutch, driving a walk-off double to left-center field with two outs in the bottom of the seventh to lift the NC State softball team to a 3–2 victory over Pittsburgh in game two of the series Saturday evening at Dail Softball Stadium.

The win marked the first in conference action for the Wolfpack and moves NC State to 19-9 on the season.

How it Happened

Pittsburgh struck first with a solo home run to center field by Gracie Helton in the top of the second inning.
The Panthers extended their lead in the third when Shelby Frazier launched a solo homer to deep center.
NC State responded in the bottom of the fourth as Hannah Church blasted a solo home run to center to cut the deficit in half.
Just two batters later, Morgen Talley followed with a solo shot of her own to tie the game at 2–2.
Both pitchers settled in over the next two innings, keeping the game deadlocked heading into the seventh.
Maia Townsend sparked the final rally with a one-out single in the bottom of the seventh.
Kendall Simmers drew a walk to put two runners on with two outs.
Lily Livingston then drilled a double into the left-center gap to bring home Townsend and secure the 3–2 walk-off win for the Pack.

By the Numbers

Freshman Morgen Talley threw a complete game and struck out a career high eight batters.
Three members of the Pack delivered extra-base hits in the outing: Lily Livingston (double), Hannah Church and Morgen Talley (homer).
NC State out-hit the Panthers, 7-5.
