NC State Heads to Blacksburg and Winston-Salem for Dual-Meet Weekend

RALEIGH, N.C. - The Wolfpack enters another weekend of competition this season with athletes split across two meets. Throwers and Jakerra Covington, competing in the pentathlon, will travel to Blacksburg, Va., for the Doc Hale Invitational, while sprinters and jumpers take on the Camel City Invitational in Winston-Salem, N.C.

LAST TIME OUT
In Lynchburg, Va., Sadie Engelhardt delivered a standout performance in the mile invite, finishing second with a time of 4:32.71. Her mark dipped under both the meet and facility records that were set during the race.
The distance squad continued the momentum in the 3000m, where Hannah Gapes (9:04.56) and Brooke Rauber (9:11.03) both ran under the newly established meet and facility records, placing second and sixth, respectively. Briley Bickerstaff added to the excitement with a time of 9:25.41, also under the meet record. Gapes' performance currently ranks No. 20 among NCAA Division I 3000m times this season.
At the Bob Pollock Invitational in Clemson, S.C., Elyssia Fisher recorded a personal-best jump of 19' 9" in the long jump, moving from No. 10 to No. 9 on NC State's all-time top-10 list. In the 400m, Alexis Mayhew cracked the top-10 on NC State's list with a time of 56.19, ranking sixth all-time.
On the men's side, Elijah Dawes and Christian Parker both posted top-10 performances in the 400m. Dawes ran a personal-best 46.50 to remain No. 2 on the list, while Parker made his debut in the top-10 at No. 3 with a time of 47.17.
TOP-20 NATIONAL RANKINGS
For the second consecutive week, Sadie Engelhardt and Angelina Napoleon rank among the top 20 nationally in their respective events. Engelhardt currently sits at No. 6 in the mile, while Napoleon ranks ninth in the 3000m.
At the squad level, Bethany Michalak, Kate Putman and Brooke Rauber once again join Engelhardt to form the fourth-fastest women's mile group in the NCAA, posting an average time of 4:35.75.
Hannah Gapes joins Napoleon, Engelhardt and Rauber to make up the sixth-fastest women's 3000m group in the NCAA, with an average time of 9:02.08.
On the men's side, the triple jump squad enters the national rankings at No. 10. Ryan John, Ryan Farness, Asun Pender and Jack Owen combine for an average mark of 14.41m (47' 3.25").
