CHARLOTTE, N.C. - NC State women's tennis collected two ACC weekly honors, as the Wolfpack was named ACC Doubles Team of the Week and ACC Freshman of the Week, the league announced Tuesday. Gabriella Broadfoot and Victoria Osuigwe earned doubles recognition, while Osuigwe also took home Freshman of the Week honors. The awards mark NC State's first ACC weekly honors of the 2026 season.
The No. 4-ranked reigning NCAA Doubles Champions, Broadfoot and Osuigwe, have opened the spring season picking up where they left off in the fall, improving to 4-0 in completed matches. This past week, the duo posted a 2-0 week with a pair of top 20 wins, beginning with a 6-4 victory over the No. 17-ranked pairing of Nikola Daubnerova and Xinyi Nong of No. 23 Florida. The Wolfpack's top doubles team followed that performance with another 6-4 win against No. 3 North Carolina, defeating the Tar Heels' No. 11-ranked duo of Reese Brantmeier and Alanis Hamilton to clinch the doubles point in the rivalry dual.
Osuigwe, a freshman from Bradenton, Florida, paired her doubles success with a standout week in singles play. She remains perfect at 6-0 in singles this spring and earned two victories last week.
She opened the week with a clutch, match-clinching three-set win to secure NC State's dramatic 4-3 victory over No. 23 Florida and punch the Pack's ticket to the ITA National Team Indoor Championships. With the match tied 3-3 and the dual coming down to the final court, Osuigwe defeated Brooke Black at the No. 5 singles position, 7-6(3), 4-6, 7-5.
Osuigwe followed that performance with her first career ranked singles win, taking down No. 51 Theadora Rabman of No. 3 North Carolina, 6-4, 6-3, to earn a point for the Wolfpack in its 4-3 loss to the Tar Heels.
NC State now turns its attention to the 2026 ITA Division I Women's National Team Indoor Championships, hosted by Northwestern and Illinois in Evanston, Ill., from Friday, Feb. 6 through Tuesday, Feb. 10. The Wolfpack enter the tournament as the No. 5 seed and will face No. 4 seed Oklahoma State on Friday at 7:30 p.m. ET (6:30 p.m. CT).
