#14 Wolfpack Earns Highest-Ranked Win of Season at #2 Pepperdine

MALIBU, Calif. - No. 14 NC State women's tennis earned its highest-ranked win of the season Thursday night, knocking off No. 2 Pepperdine on the road, 4-3. The victory marked the Wolfpack's seventh ranked win of the season and improved the team to 13-5 overall.
The win also marked NC State's second straight season with a victory over the nation's No. 2-ranked team, as the Pack defeated No. 2 Virginia on March 9, 2025.
NC State opened the dual by winning the doubles point for the ninth match in a row. On court two, No. 80 Jasmine Conway and Anna Zyryanova defeated Anastasiia Grechkina and Chantal Sauvant, 6-4, before Lavinia Tanasie and Mia Slama clinched the point on court three with a 7-5 win over Duru Söke and Shihomi Leong.
In singles play, Pepperdine evened the match with a win on court five before No. 44 Slama put the Wolfpack back in front with a ranked victory over No. 23 Živa Falkner, 6-4, 6-2, on court one. No. 65 Zyryanova then extended NC State's lead on court three, defeating No. 13 Anastasiia Grechkina, 6-4, 7-5.
After the Waves tied the dual at 3-3, No. 48 Gabriella Broadfoot sealed the top two road win with a three-set victory over No. 36 Sonja Zhiyenbayeva, 4-6, 6-4, 6-1, on court two.
