
Pack Women’s Golf Breaks Team 18-Hole Record at Ruth’s Chris Tar Heel Invitational

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The NC State women's golf team broke the 18-hole team tournament school record on day one of the Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational, shooting a 5-under 275. The 275 tops the previous record of 278 the Pack achieved three times at the 2023 Cougar Classic and twice at the 2023 ICON Invitational.
With the 5-under performance in the first round, NC State has a six-shot lead, as No. 16 Auburn follows at 1-over par and No. 17 Duke and Purdue shot 2-over par.
NC State has the top two performers in the tournament, as Marie Eline Madsen leads the way with a 3-under 67 and Ellie Hildreth is tied for second with a 2-under 68. Madsen now has her fifth round in the 60s this season after shooting a clean card with three birdies and Hildreth shot a career low, doing so with six birdies.
Vania Simont and Lindsay McGrath were both solid for the Pack, shooting at an even-par 70. Simont finished with two birdies, two bogeys and 14 pars, while McGrath shot a career-low round, also with two birdies, two bogeys and 14 pars.
Lea Ludwig shot a 5-over 75 and is in 51st, while Elizabeth Sullivan, who is playing as an individual, shot an 11-over 81 and is in 77th.
