NC State Wraps Up Spring-Opening Action at Collegiate Invitational

GUADALAJARA, MEXICO — NC State women's golf placed eighth in its first of five spring tournaments as it competed against a stacked field of 12 the past two days at the Collegiate Invitational.
Hosted by UVA at the Guadalajara Country Club, the Wolfpack shot a combined 907 (+43) after splitting up the 54 holes of action across two days.
Vania Simont led the Pack's five scorers with a 224 (+8) performance that was highlighted by a two-under (70) second round.
Isabel Amezcua shot an even 72 on the opening day of competition on her way to posting a 226 (+10).
Next up for the Wolfpack is a trip to Sarasota, Fla., to play in the Spartan Sun Coast Invitational. The event, hosted by Michigan State, will run Feb. 18-19 at Palm Aire Country Club.
