
Wolfpack in Fifth Through Round One at Bryan National Collegiate

BROWNS SUMMIT, N.C. - Through one round of the Bryan National Collegiate on the Champions Course at Bryan Park Golf Club, the NC State women's golf team currently sits in fifth place with three players in the top 20 of the individual standings after finishing the first day of competition with a team total of 296 (+8).
In the Wolfpack's second tournament of the 2021-22 campaign, NC State was led by both Inja Fric and Lauren Olivares Leon, the latter of whose day was highlighted by a back-nine stretch of birdie-birdie-eagle, each fired a one-under par 71 to sit in a tie for 11th. Olivares Leon's round was the lowest so far in her early career.
Top-seeded Natalie Armbruester had an impressive day as well, birdieing her final hole en route to a one-over 73 and tie for 18th.
Lea Klimentova used a fantastic recovery of a one-over 37 throughout her back nine to shoot a 10-over 82, and Isabel Amezcua followed up last week's top 20 finish with an opening round 81 (+9).
Nicole Kramer and Ryann Sinclair competed for the Wolfpack as individuals, with Sinclair firing an eight-over 80 and Kramer finishing with an 11-over 83.
Round two begins tomorrow for the Pack, with the squad's five team participants teeing off at staggered times beginning at 8:30 AM and finishing at 9:06 AM. All Wolfpack team participants will be paired with players from Charlotte and Richmond.
Campbell currently leads the tournament at 280 (-8), and the Camels' Emily Hawkins leads all individuals after shooting a five-under 67 in round one. Aside from NC State in fifth, Wake Forest (285, -3), Old Dominion (291, +3), and Charlotte (293, +5) round out the top five.
