
#5 NC State Defeats #47 Clemson

CLEMSON, S.C. – The No. 5 NC State women's tennis team defeated No. 47 Clemson 4-3 on Sunday afternoon at the Duckworth Family Tennis Facility in Clemson, S.C. The win marks the program's first win on Clemson's campus (the series started in 1978) and the team's fourth win in its last five ranked matchups.
NC State moves to 18-3 (5-1) on the season, and Clemson drops to 11-7 (1-5).
In doubles, Lana Mavor and Liz Norman won their fourth doubles match in the last five contests with a dominant 6-1 win on court three. No. 2 Anna Rogers and Alana Smith extended their doubles win streak to four matches thanks to a 7-5 decision on court one that secured the doubles point for NC State.
Jaeda Daniel's 6-3, 6-0 victory over Sydney Riley marked her seventh consecutive win. She is 3-1 when competing on court four this season. No. 32 Rogers extended the Pack's lead, 3-0, and her singles win streak to eight matches with a 6-3, 6-0 decision on court two.
Clemson claimed its first point of the afternoon on court three as Louka def. No. 37 Adriana Reami 6-4, 6-2, but No. 101 Norman clinched the match and the squad's fifth conference win on court six with a 7-5, 6-2 decision.
The Tigers took courts one and five to bring the final score to 4-3.
