
Pack Finishes 10th At Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The No. 7 NC State women's golf team concluded its showing on Tuesday afternoon at the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship, hosted by Tennessee at Cherokee Country Club, with a 10th-place finish out of 15 teams.
The Wolfpack finished with a combined score of 293 (+9) on Tuesday for a tournament total of 879 (+27). Illinois came away with the team title with a 12-under-par 840, while Kent State finished one stroke back at 841 and Tennessee rounded out the top three of the team standings with an eight-over 860.
Laura Kowohl garnered her second top 20 finish of the season with a tie for 19th and a three-round total of 214 (+1). She shot 72 in the final round. Cecily Overbey shot the low round among the squad with an even-par 71, as she finished in a tie for 40th overall with a 221 (+8).
Naomi Ko and Crystal Huang finished T43rd and T56th, in respective order, with final scores of 222 (+9) and 225. Huang shot a 76 while Ko turned in a 77 in the final round of action.
India Clyburn rounded out the Pack's starting lineup with a tie for 71st. She shot 74 on Tuesday to card a 54-hole score of 229 (+16).
Monika Hartl, who competed as an individual, wrapped up her first collegiate tournament with a two-over 73 to finish T62nd overall with a 226 (+13).
NC State returns to action Oct. 13-15 when it makes the short trip to Chapel Hill for the Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational, hosted by UNC-CH at Finley Golf Course.
