Wolfpack in Fifth at ACC Championship

CLINTON, S.C. – The NC State men's golf team completed the first round at the 2017 ACC Championship Friday afternoon at Musgrove Mill Golf Course. Through 18 holes of play, the Wolfpack sits fifth of 12 teams in the tournament field and just three strokes out of fourth place.

Sophomore Stephen Franken (T12) and senior Jacob McBride (T15) paced the Wolfpack on Friday with scores of 70 and 71, respectively.

No. 21 Duke leads the field at 277 (-11). Florida State is second at 278 (-10) and No. 15 Clemson is third with 279 (-9).

Due to inclement weather in the forecast on Sunday, the second and third rounds will now be played on Saturday beginning at 7:30 a.m. Wolfpack golfers are paired with competitors from No. 9 Wake Forest and No. 20 Georgia Tech and will tee off from hole one.
