The Rundown
- Louisville started fast in the contest with four runs in the bottom of the first to grab a 4-0 lead.
- The Cardinals were aggressive on the basepaths, scoring a couple runs on sacrifice flies and another pair on an RBI single and an RBI double.
- Alyssa Compton led off the top of the third for NC State with a single and advanced to second base on a base hit by Lana Van Dyken.
- Molly Hutchison drove in both runners with a double to right center to trim the Wolfpack deficit to 4-2.
- Hanna Sommer dropped an RBI single into right field scoring Hutchison, as NC State cut the lead to 4-3.
- From there it was all Louisville, as the Cardinals went on to win the game.
