2ND ROUND RESULTS
CHAPEL HILL - Freshmen India Clyburn (+1) and Naomi Ko (+4) are leading the NC State women's golf team after two rounds of the Tar Heel Invitational. The Wolfpack is tied with Michigan State for fourth in the 18-team event, which concludes Sunday at Finley Golf Course.
The Pack battled through windy and rainy conditions to find itself just three shots out of second place, trailing Arkansas and Louisville. Duke leads the field by 11 shots.
"I saw them get tougher as the conditions worsened," head coach Page Marsh said. "They are very gritty."
Clyburn (73-72--145) is tied four fourth in the 96-player event, and is 5-under over her last five rounds of competition. She was one of 10 players to shoot even par on the day. Ko (73-75--148) is tied for 17th overall, just one shot ahead of fellow freshman Laura Kowohl (+5). Kowohl, playing in her first collegiate tournament, is tied for 25th.
The final round of the Tar Heel Invitational is set for Sunday morning.
