Round 1 Results - Thompson Invitational
MANOA, Hawaii - Three players - Caroline Ellington, Augusta James and Brittany Marchand - are all tied for sixth overall to lead the NC State women's golf team after the first round of the Donnis Thompson Invitational in Hawaii.
NC State, ranked 20th in the nation, stands in second place of 15 teams with a team score of 294 (+6). The Wolfpack is just six shots behind Mississippi State (E). Hawaii and Kennesaw State (+12) trail NC State in the team standings.
Elling, James and Marchand each carded a one-over round of 73, which is just three shots behind individual leaders Ines Lescudier of Kennesaw State and Jessica Peng of Mississippi State (-2).
Ana Menendez and Lindsay McGetrick each shot 75 and are tied for 19th in the 84-player field.
NC State will continue play at the Donnis Thompson Invitational Wednesday, March 12.
