MANOA, Hawaii - Augusta James (+2) tied for third overall to lead the No. 20 NC State women's golf team to second place at the Donnis Thompson Invitational in Hawaii.
James (73-72-73) fired a 54-hole total of 218, just two strokes behind medalist Ines Lescudier of Kennesaw State.
Brittany Marchand and Caroline Ellington (+8) each tied for 11th with a tourney total of 224. It marked the best individual finish and second career top-20 finish for Ellington.
Ana Menendez (+14) and Lindsay McGetrick (+17) rounded out the Wolfpack lineup.
As a team, NC State placed second in the 15-team event, trailing only Mississippi State. In third, and one stroke behind the Wolfpack, was SMU (+33). Gonzaga (+41) and Washington State (+42) rounded out the top five of the team standings.
NC State will play its first spring event in the state of North Carolina March 28-30 when it plays in the Bryan National Collegiate in Browns Summit, N.C.
