NC State Falls To Minnesota, 5-2

RALEIGH, N.C. - The No. 46 NC State women's tennis team was defeated by Minnesota, 5-2, at home on Sunday afternoon. The Wolfpack falls to 3-6 with the loss, while the Gophers improve to 5-1.
NC State started the match off strong, winning the doubles point by taking two of the three matches. Joelle Kissell and Ashley Miller defeated Julia Courter and Alexa Palen in the No. 1 spot, winning 8-6. Christy Sipes and Sophie Nelson topped Aria Lambert and Doron Muravnik, 9-7, in the No. 3 position to clinch the point for the Pack.
Christy Sipes picked up the lone win in singles for NC State, topping Aria Lambert, 6-4, 6-2.
The Wolfpack will return to action on Sunday, Feb. 26 against Wake Forest. The match will be part of the NC State women's tennis alumni weekend.
