MADISON, Wisc. - The No. 37 NC State women's tennis team fell to DePaul on Saturday at the Nielsen Tennis Stadium at the University of Wisconsin. NC State is now 3-3 on the season, while Depaul improved to 8-1.
In doubles action, Elisha Hande and Chloe Smith finished first, falling to Kelsey Lawson and Cali Gustafson. Joelle Kissell and Christy Sipes were able to even the doubles score at one, topping Rebeca Mitrea and Patricia Fargas, but Jasmine Kling and Gia McKnight took an 8-5 victory over Tatiana Illova and Ashley Miller to take the doubles point.
The singles competition proved to be just as tough as the doubles, with four of the six singles matches going to three sets.
Miller picked up the Wolfpack's only singles win of the day, topping Mitrea in three sets in the No. 4 position, 3-6, 6-4, 6-4.
NC State will return to action tomorrow against Wisconsin. The match will take place at the Nielsen Tennis Stadium, and is set to begin at 11 a.m., central time.
