CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA. --- Tatiana Illova scored a win for the Pack as 30th-ranked NC State women’s tennis fell 4-1 Friday at 18th-ranked Virginia.
NC State (11-7, 2-6 ACC) faced a stiff test against four ranked singles and two ranked doubles teams to begin its final road trip of the regular season.
Illova posted a win in the number three position over 84th-ranked Hana Tomljanovic 6-4, 6-1 for the Pack’s lone singles victory of the afternoon.
Joelle Kissell and Ashley Miller won a tiebreaker to notch a win over Virginia’s Fuccillo/Peretz team 9-8 (7-5). The Pack dropped the other two doubles to grant Virginia the point.
A pair of matches went undecided, as Lenka Hojckova and Sandhya Nagaraj both took draws. Hojckova trailed 7-5, 2-1, and Nagaraj trailed 6-4, 2-2 when the matches were abandoned.
