
W. Golf tied for 5th at ACC Tournament

Greensboro, N.C. - Seniors Emily Street and Kathleen Strandberg posted a two-over par 73 first round score to lead the NC State women's golf team at the 2010 ACC Tournament held at Sedgefield Country Club.
The Wolfpack carded a team score of +17 (301) aided by a season-high 14 birdies collectively. The first round performance put the team in a tie for fifth place in the nine-team tournament.
Street, playing in her final ACC Tournament, accounted for five of the team's birdies en route to her first round score of 73 to put her in a tie for 11th place.
Strandberg had two birdies of her own to also tie for 11th place.
Junior Brooke Baker, taking part in her first ACC Tournament, fired a six-over par 77 for the round. Baker collected five birdies on the day as well and finds herself tied for 24th.
Sophomore Meghan Chapman shot a seven-over par 78 and is tied for 26th.
Junior Julie Saleeby shot a first round score of 81. Saleeby had two birdies on the day and is tied for 35th.
2009 ACC Champion Wake Forest is in first place holding a two-stroke lead at +2 (286). Duke's Alison Whitaker leads all individuals at -2.
Second Round action tees off Saturday at 8:30 am.
