Women's Golf Team in Sixth Place at ACC Championship

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The NC State women’s golf team shot a team total of +18 (306) to sit in sixth place after day one of the 2007 ACC Championship at the par-72 Carmel Country Club.
Freshman Emily Street continued her steady play with a two-over 74 to tie for ninth overall. Street was seeking a second-straight under-par round before a double bogey on the closing hole. She also posted two birdies and two bogeys on the day.
Sophomore Lauren Doughtie had five bogies and one birdie on her round to post a four-over 76 and is tied for 18th.
Junior Stephanie Derrey is tied for 23rd, one shot behind Doughtie at five-over 77. Derrey’s round included one birdie, four bogies and one double.
Freshman Kathleen Strandberg put together a steady round before two late double bogeys put her at +7 (79) for her round and in a tie for 28th.
Freshman Cindel Gwyn shot an 83 with a birdie on the par-5 fifth hole.
Second round action continues Saturday.
