Wolfpack Falls to Furman and Florida State

RALEIGH, N.C. - NC State fell in women's tennis to Furman on March 18 before dropping an ACC match to Florida State on the 20th. NC State won the doubles point against Furman and two singles matches, as Barbara Orlay won again at No. 1 singles. No. 3 Nandita Chandrasekar won at No. 3 singles as well.
Against Furman, NC State took an early lead by sweeping the doubles point, but the Paladins rallied, winning four of the six singles matches to defeat the Wolfpack.Lam/Orlay won at no. 1 doubles 9-8 (7), and Chandrasekar/Apodaca won easily at No. 2, 8-2. At no. 3, Jassawalla and Arechevaleta won 8-6 to complete the sweep.
In singles, Barbara Orlay won at No. 1, while Chandrasekar was the other singles winner at No. 3.
Against Florida State, Jennifer Jassawalla battled to force a third set at No. 3, losing to FSU's Denny, 6-3, 2-6, 10-4.
NC State will travel to Durham to face Duke before returning to the Varsity Courts to host Richmond at 3:00 pm.
