
Wolfpack Moves to 2-0 After Defeating ASU, 7-0

Raleigh, N.C. - NC State women's tennis defeated Appalachian State 7-0 in Raleigh in windy and cold conditions to improve to 2-0 on the season. The Wolfpack defeated UNC-Wilmington on Jan. 31, 7-0. Danielle Stadelmann played and won her first dual singles match of the season, 6-4, 6-2 at No. 6 singles as the other five Wolfpack singles players improved to 2-0 each on the season.
Nandita Chandrasekar improved to 2-0 on the season and 1-0 at No. 1 singles with her straight set blanking of Anja Gugger, 6-0, 6-0. She teamed with Barbara Orlay to defeat Beaulien/Gugger of ASU 8-6 at No. 1 doubles. Chandrasekar and Orlayare 2-0 at No. 1 doubles on the season. Orlay won her singles match easily, 6-0, 6-1 over Gordon of App. State.
Vania Apodaca (No. 3; 4-6, 6-0, 6-1), Jennifer Jassawalla (No. 4; 6-2, 6-1) and Agustina Arechavaleta (No. 5; 6-3, 6-2) each won in singles as NC State improved to 12-0 as a team in dual match singles.
The Wolfpack women's tennis team will travel to Davidson for a Sunday match at 1:30pm.
