
Wolfpack Gets Decisive Win Over Stetson, 5-2

DeLand, Fla. - NC State picked up an out-of-conference win on Wednesday afternoon versus Stetson, 5-2. The Wolfpack clinched the doubles point with a sweep, and grabbed four singles matches to move to 4-5 on the season. Loni Worsley extended her winning streak to five matches and remains undefeated as the number three seed with a win in straight sets.
Worsley was named the ACC's co-performer of the week on Monday after opening conference play at 3-0, and is now 6-3 on the season with a win over Stetson's Jackie Bohannon. Worsley teamed with Kristin Lam in the number one doubles match to down the Hatter tandem of Milica Milovanovic and Beth Hayden, 8-3.
Myrna Bawono was victorious in the number two singles match over Hayden. Bawono won easily in the first set, but was challenged late in the second. She prevented the third set with a 6-2, 7-5 win. Bawono and Jennifer Jassawalla won easily in the number two doubles match, 8-2.
Jassawalla picked up her second straight win in the four spot with a victory over Marina Levin in straight sets of 6-2, 6-2. Carmen Torres has won two of her last three matches, this time, taking a three-set win over Caroline Woerle.
Torres and Danielle Stadelmann picked up the win in the number three doubles match, 8-2, over Woerle/Bohannon.
NC State will continue out-of-league play on Wednesday, March 18 versus Winthrop at the Cary Tennis Center. Action is slated to begin at 2 p.m.
