Women's Tennis Falls in Southeast Regional Championships

Winston-Salem, N.C. - The Southeast Regional Championships continue this weekend in Winston-Salem.
NC State singles players Jakie Leskovar and Katrina Gildemeister were both defeated in their matches on Friday however.
Leskovar was placed into the main draw, while Gildemeister defeated two opponents in the preliminaries on Thursday to qualify. Leskovar was defeated Friday by Tamara Sutton (USC), 6-1, 4-6, 6-4. Gildemeister faced Monica Gonzalez-Gordo (UM), but fell 5-7, 6-1, 6-1.
In doubles action, Leskovar joined Jennifer Jassawalla to meet eighth seeded Cline/Mojzic (UNC). The NC State pair lost 8-3. Gildemeister and fellow senior Kristen Nicholls were defeated by the seventh seeded combo of Kruse/Varnell (MTSU) 9-7.
Competition will wrap up on Sunday at the Wake Forest Indoor Tennis Center. Women's tennis players representing 28 different schools and four different states (North Carolina, South Carolina, Kentucky and Tennessee) are competing for the right to advance to the National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships in Dallas, Texas from Nov. 8-11.
