Shackley Captures Backstroke Sweep: McCarty Breaks 50 Free Program Record Twice in Monaco

MONACO - Wolfpack swimmers Leah Shackley and Quintin McCarty delivered standout performances at the Mare Nostrum Monaco Swim Tour, held May 23–24, turning in record-breaking swims and multiple gold medal finishes on the international stage.
McCarty made a major statement in long course competition, rewriting the program record book in the 50m freestyle twice in the same day. He first broke the school record during prelims with a time of 21.62 to qualify for the A-final, before lowering the mark again in the championship final with a gold medal winning swim of 21.43.
Shackley dominated the backstroke events throughout the two day meet, sweeping gold in the 50, 100, and 200m backstroke races to cap an impressive weekend in Monaco.
